Palestine Solidarity Working Group (PSWG)

From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!

We are looking for people to aid in our Palestine Solidarity campaigns! Whether its hosting educational events or supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement, PSWG is an accessible space to learn more about anti-colonial, anti-imperialist politics.

History of Palestine Solidarity in TCDSA

In October 2023, TCDSA released a solidarity statement with our Palestinian comrades after Israel’s genocidal actions proved to require immediate and unequivocal international intervention. Our initial statement, which centered Palestinian liberation and acknowledged Israel’s settler colonialism, was amended due to zionist backlash from within and outside the chapter. When our steering committee released a second modified statement, TCDSA comrades found its euphemistic labeling of the genocide as “an ongoing struggle” and catering to both sideism counterproductive to the Palestinian liberation movement. Disappointed, but invigorated, comrades mobilized internally to create a working group that provides the chapter an informed direction on what socialist solidarity looks like in the Free Palestine movement.

The PSWG has since been a place to organize, strategize and show up to work towards a Free Palestine and an end to all settler colonialism.

The PSWG focuses its campaigns on

  • supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement
  • providing political education on settler-colonialism and Palestinian liberation
  • using labor power to mobilize workers against genocide
  • and building collaborative partnerships with like-minded organizations working towards a Free Palestine.

Between December 2025 – March 2026, the PSWG paused its activities to honor TCDSA’s contingency plan and resist the federal ICE occupation. Some of our core members were crucial in our neighborhood defense networks offering tactual support services, dispatch and ICE watch. As PSWG moves forward – and as TCDSA continues to see increased recruitment, we hope to continue to connect the ties of ICE to the Israeli Military and their inhumane practices. As the genocide continues and the federal government expands it imperialistic campaigns with Venezuela and Iran, the PSWG must remain active and militant in our solidarity with the Free Palestine movement.

2026 Organizing Activities

Free Palestine Coalition: TCDSA continues to meet bimonthly as a part of the Free Palestine Coalition (FPC); a coalition of Twin Cities grassroots organizations who engage in public demonstrations, lead BDS campaigns, and host educational events for the larger community.

SAY NO TO SKYDIO BDS Campaign: TCDSA joins the FPC in demanding the Minneapolis City Council SAY NO! to contracting with SkyDio. SkyDio, a weapons manufacturer and drone supplier for Israel Defense Forces (IDF), is attempting to sell its “First Responders” AI-powered aerial robots as a big tech solution for municipal public safety, failing to mention how police departments throughout the United States have used the technology to increase surveillance on everyday working-class people including Pro-Palestine protestors. What makes it worse – vague Minnesota state statutes increase the potential weaponization of these drones for surveillance. Minneapolis residents can join this campaign, calling on the MPLS City Council to reject the SkyDio contract today until the July 8th public hearing. TCDSA’s PSWG demands DRONES OUT OF MPLS! DRONES OUT PALESTINE!

Member organizations include American Muslims for Palestine, Anti-War Committee MN, Educators 4 Justice in Palestine, National Lawyers Guild, Healthcare Workers 4 Palestine, Jewish Voices 4 Peace, MN BDS Community, Women Against Military Madness, Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), Minnesota Peace Action Coalition, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Students for a Democratic Society, Twin Cities Coalition 4 Justice, Twin Cities Democratic Socialists of America, and US Palestinian Community Network.

2025 Accomplishments

Cut the Contract!: A TCDSA-supported campaign to get the Minneapolis City Council to end their contract with the Israeli surveillance company ZenCity, mobilized thousands of Minneapolis residents. Although the Minneapolis City Council successfully voted to end the contract, allegedly Mayor Jacob Frey refuses to adhere to the decision.

BDS Resolution brought to Minneapolis DFL Convention: At the 2025 Minneapolis DFL Convention, the delegates overwhelmingly voted in support of a BDS Resolution, making it the first time in Minneapolis history that a BDS measure was passed by a political party.

From Turtle Island to Palestine Educational Series: Our PSWG hosted a 4-part educational series on settler colonialism, imperialism, resistance and liberation.

2024 Accomplishments

Resolution #2 – Make Twin Cities DSA an Anti-Zionist Organization in Principle and Praxis (adopted by membership) Representatives of the PSWG campaigned for the TCDSA chapter to reaffirm our commitment to Palestinian liberation, barring the chapter from endorsing any political candidate who promotes pro-Zionist interests as a part of their platform or partners with pro-Zionist interest groups as a part of their political activities.

Priority Proposal #3 – Unite for Liberation – From Palestine to Turtle Island (adopted by membership) Representatives of the PSWG campaigned for the TCDSA chapter to prioritize Palestinian Liberation political activities for 2025.
