The Trump administration is carrying out a historic power grab. The Republicans are trying to cut taxes for billionaires, gut public services and environmental regulations, destroy unions, and intimidate workers. To distract and divide the working class, the Trump Administration is ramping up deportations of immigrants and attacking LGBTQ+ folks, abortion rights, and racial justice programs. If Trump and the billionaires get away with this, it will embolden MAGA forces to continue their offensive.
The Democrats and most union leaders are not sufficiently mobilizing the working class to block this historic onslaught, but we can. The left is beginning to get better organized and fight back. DSA must rise to the occasion, join protests, and even help lead the resistance where possible. We need to connect with the millions of people moving into action against Trump and offer them socialist politics as an alternative to both the far-right Republicans and the corporate Democrats. Join the fight with the TCDSA Labor Branch, and mark your calendar now for these upcoming events.
Hands Off Public Sector Workers and Services!
This Saturday, April 5th, 12 – 2 pm
State Capitol: 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55155
National and local organizations are coming together across the country to organize for Hands Off! – a national day of action in over 800 cities to challenge the Trump-Musk billionaire assault on our communities. Over half a million people have RSVP’d nationwide! This is an all-in moment for the pro-democracy, pro-worker movement. Hands Off! is a demand, a warning, and a rallying cry. We’ll be part of a massive, visible, national rejection of the crisis engineered by Trump. We will show that the working class is beginning to build a movement to stop the power grab, and socialists will be passing out leaflets and offering our unique ideas to the people getting active. Bring your signs, and meet us for this inspiring show of solidarity. Hosts: Federal Unionists Network, many unions, DSA, Indivisible, 50501MN, Women’s March, and more.
Delta Workers Solidarity Saturdays
Every Saturday, 10 am – noon
IAM office, 7851 Metro Parkway, Suite 280, Bloomington, 55425
Join us in phone-banking – now every Saturday – to ask Delta workers to re-sign their union cards. 70% of the workers who answer their phone agree to re-sign a card, which provides a potential path to victory.
DSA has been supporting the historic unionization drive of Delta ramp, cargo, and tower workers with the International Association of Machinists (IAM). In 2023, Delta made 40% of the airline industry’s profits – more than United, American, Southwest, and Alaska combined. Despite these record profits, Delta workers are nowhere near the highest compensated in the industry in terms of pay or benefits. This is an opportunity to support the historic revival of the labor movement and provide solidarity to a racially diverse workforce in winning a union and a voice at work. No experience needed; phone script provided.

Let’s Talk about a General Strike
A Third Workers’ Assembly for the Twin Cities
Mark your calendar: Saturday, May 17th, 2 – 4 pm
Location TBA
The resistance to Trump is beginning to get organized and grow stronger. But to stop his historic onslaught, we need more than lawsuits. We need to organize protests, sit-ins, strikes, and ideally a generalized work stoppage to bring the economy to a halt – a general strike. Come network with socialists and labor activists and discuss how we can build a movement with the power to eventually force Trump out of power, before his term is up.
Host: Workers’ Solidarity Circle – a coalition of TCDSA, Black Cat Collective, and Red Pine Revolutionary Collective.
In Solidarity,
Ramy K, for the TCDSA Labor Branch
