Twin Cities Democratic Socialists of America stands in full solidarity with Teamsters 120 union members striking and actively picketing at the Marathon Oil Refinery in St Paul Park.
Their willingness to stand up for safe working conditions and to protect union jobs in the middle of bone-chilling winter conditions is a shining example of earnest commitment to justice and the bravery of working people in the state of Minnesota. They deserve our solidarity and active support!
The Teamsters struggle at Marathon Oil is not just about the well-being of a few members of our community. The ability of these 200 workers to have union protection and negotiate workplace safety has an impact on the safety of the entire community because their work is tied to highly dangerous chemical processes used at the refinery.
Their victory in this strike is a victory for the entire community!
Twin Cities DSA is coordinating solidarity trips to the picket line. As of this posting, our next trip is Wednesday, February 3. To join us on a trip, sign up on the form linked in this document.
