Twin Cities DSA has happily endorsed UNITE Here! Local 17’s Hotel Workers March!
On Wednesday, May 1st, hotel workers are marching through downtown Minneapolis for their own contracts, marching in support of $15 min wage everywhere, marching for workers’ rights and workplace democracy. It’s time for socialists to show up in solidarity!
Not only have we been asked to endorse the march, UNITE Here organizers have asked TCDSA to help boost turnout and assist with this event. Our DSA chapter being asked to help with such efforts is a huge compliment, and a sign of the trust that you have helped build between labor unions and socialists by continually showing up and offering our support and solidarity.
This time around Twin Cities DSA members, including you, will be contributing in several capacities:
First, RSVP and invite others to march in the Socialist contingent for this event. With coordination and approval from UNITE organizers, TCDSA has created its own event page on Facebook to invite comrades and fellow travelers.
Second, with expected high turnout we will need to do some behind the scenes labor to make this solidarity event as successful as possible. If you can help prep for the event, help with day-of coordination, or step up to help marshal the entire march, please fill out this form for any and all roles you would be available to assist with leading up to this important event.
