Please join the Left Social Democrats Caucus of the Twin Cities DSA on Tuesday, April 16th, at 7:00pm for a presentation by Professor David Schultz of Hamline University on “Bernie Sanders and the Future of Democratic Socialism in American Politics.”  If any other branches, working groups, or caucuses are interested in co-sponsoring or promoting this event, please contact John Heppen.

As Bernie begins his 2020 campaign as the clear frontrunner of the Democratic Party primary race, Schultz will discuss the progressive juggernaut and what impact the left can have going forward. After the presentation, there will be a panel discussion and question session for those who want to dive deeper.

Joining Prof. Schultz will be several members of the Left Social Democrats caucus, speaking on various important aspects of our movement:

  • Hunter Hawes from AM 950 on the rise of left wing media
  • Brad McGarr, 2018 Shakopee City Council Candidate, on lessons learned running as a Democratic Socialist in a conservative suburb
  • Mike Mitchell, member of the British Labour Party living in Minnesota, on what we can learn from UK Labour

We’ll be meeting in room 305 of the Anderson Center at Hamline University, 774 Snelling Ave. N. in St. Paul.
