TCDSA Convention 2021

Registration

TCDSA’s 2021 chapter convention will be held Sunday, September 12, at 1pm on Zoom. Register to attend the convention here.

Agenda

The convention agenda, meeting rules, and other information you’ll need are in the meeting packet, available here.

Voting

After the convention, members will receive an OpaVote ballot by email for voting on leadership, bylaw amendments, and resolution. You don’t need to be a member to attend, and you don’t need to attend to receive a ballot and vote, but you must be a member in good standing to vote. If you need to check your membership status, send an email to [email protected].

Leadership Elections

Nominations for leadership elections closed on August 28. Statements submitted by the current candidates are available here. You can also nominate yourself or someone else for a leadership position during the convention — the chair will take nominations from the floor.

Our Grievance Committee is also seeking new members, who must be nominated for seats by the existing Grievance Committee before being elected by the chapter. To run for a seat on the Grievance Committee, send an email to [email protected].

Bylaw Amendments and Resolutions

Bylaw amendments are changes to our rules for chapter governance. Resolutions are statements that commit the chapter to a campaign, issue, or other priority. Submissions for bylaw amendments and resolutions closed on August 28 and the chair will not entertain new submissions from the floor. These are the bylaw amendments and resolutions we’ll vote on:

Amendment: Change two-year Steering Committee terms to one year

Amendment: Replace “inreach” with “internal organizing”

Resolution: Labor Resolution for Twin Cities DSA Chapter Convention

Resolution: Neighborhood Organizing Through Healing Justice
